Faculty of Education grad students honoured
Ten students received awards at recent Faculty of Graduate Studies Awards reception
Numerous graduate students from the Faculty of Education were honoured at the recent Faculty of Graduate Studies Awards reception. In all, a total of nine students from the faculty received kudos at the event, held Nov. 16.
The reception honours grad students who have received awards of more than $10,000 per year, beginning in the 2015-16 academic year.
The recipients included: Barbara Lepp, Graduate Students’ Association Award (Master’s Part-Time), Lauren Norquay, SSHRC – Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarships (CGSM), Heather Krepski (Betty Nicks Award recipient), Catherine Draper, University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship (UMGF), June Alysha Sloane, SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship, Ben Akoh, University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship (UMGF) – Doctoral, Barbara Borges e Jesus, University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship (UMGF) – Doctoral, Trevi Freeze, University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship (UMGF) – Doctoral and Joanne Struch, University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship (UMGF).
Guest speakers at this year’s event, which honoured a total of 417 grad students, included Scott Sinclair, assistant deputy minister, advanced learning division, and Susan Gottheil, vice-provost (students), U of M.
