Media Release: 2025 Spring Convocation on Fort Garry campus ‌

‌More than 2,930 graduates will cross the stage June 4-6, June 16 ‌

June 2, 2025 — 

The University of Manitoba continues its 146th Spring Convocation with thousands expected to receive their degrees and diplomas at Fort Garry campus this week.

2,934 people will cross the stage at Spring Convocation 2025 at Fort Garry campus. This brings the total number of UM graduates to 4,200 this year, across the Bannatyne and Fort Garry campuses. Many of these new alumni will stay in Manitoba, supplying high-demand skills to the labour market and contributing to UM’s $7.3 billion economic impact on our community.

This year, convocation ceremonies for graduates from the Fort Garry campus will be held from June 4 – 6, 2025. Université de Saint-Boniface will have its ceremony on June 16, 2025. You can find a complete schedule, here.

Each year, the University of Manitoba bestows honorary degrees upon individuals who have achieved acclaim for their advancement of culture, communications, education, administration, scholarship, leadership, philanthropy, mentorship or business. The Spring 2025 Honorary Degree recipients will be honoured during convocation ceremonies listed below.

Friday, June 6 at 9:30 a.m.
Honorary Degrees: Catherine Christiane Bowler

Monday, June 16 at 3:00 p.m.
Honorary Degree: Gregory Francis Selinger
