We denounce antisemitism, Islamophobia and racism in all forms

On Oct 7, 2023, the terrorist group Hamas attacked the people of Israel in an act of hate that has killed more Jews than any attack since the Holocaust. The resulting war has led to a mounting death toll in both Israel and Gaza, as well as horrible acts of antisemitism and Islamophobia. This breaks my heart. Around the world, Jews and Muslims are afraid for their safety and grieving. As a Jew, I acknowledge the pain and immense suffering of my community, I feel it too. I also remember our shared humanity and I know that Hamas does not represent the Palestinian people, who are also suffering greatly.

In this troubling time, I reflect back on a message I shared in January on International Holocaust Remembrance Day. May it remind us to denounce hatred and racism in all forms.
