Faculty, staff and retirees take their place front and centre
U of M internal community support tops $7.9 million
Each year, members of the University of Manitoba internal community donate to support University initiatives and programs that are meaningful to them through the Faculty, Staff and Retirees Campaign. Today it was revealed that their generous support has topped $7.9 million over the past five years alone.
In an email to all staff, faculty members and members of the retiree community on Tuesday, President Barnard spoke to this accomplishment.
“You, more than anyone, experience the impact philanthropy has on the lives of our students, the success of our researchers, and the growth of our university,” he wrote.
This contribution announcement comes days before the University publicly launches its Front and Centre campaign at Saturday’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers game at Investors Group Field.
“During a lively halftime celebration, we will be announcing just how far we’ve come towards our $500 million goal and I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve achieved together.”
President Barnard also shared the following special video message from current staff, faculty, students, and even a few tiny future students, asking you to join them and take your place: front and centre.
