Wpg. Free Press: Hockey Hall of Fame wants puck, sticks from record-setting U of M Bisons seven-period game
As the Winnipeg Free Press reports:
The sticks and puck associated with one of the biggest goals in University of Manitoba hockey history are heading to the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto.
Bisons sports information officer Chris Zuk confirmed Thursday that he has been contacted by Craig Campbell, manager of the Hall of Fame’s resource centre and archives about contributing four items, including the stick used by Bisons forward Jordyn Zacharias to score the winning goal in Sunday’s 1-0 quadruple overtime win over the Alberta Pandas in Game 3 of the Canada West semifinal.
The Hall of Fame has also requested Venla Hovi’s stick (she assisted on the goal), Lauren Taraschuk’s goalie stick and the puck used to score the winner.
