Wpg Free Press: Biology student Kennan Brown earns gold medal at the 2015 Canada Winter Games

Biology student Kennan Brown has earned Manitoba’s first gold medal at the 2015 Canada Winter Games, the Winnipeg Free Press reports.

As they report:

Brown won the archery compound — individual male category – on Tuesday afternoon. He beat Tommy Plante of Quebec 145-144 in the final to put Manitoba on the medal board at the games, which started last Friday and run to March 1.

Brown has competed in archery for nine years and is already considered one of the country’s best. He is currently ranked fourth in Canada across all age groups, and is a former world junior champion (2011).
