Winnipeg: Smart city – intelligent community

Extended Education at the University of Manitoba will explore the future of work, education and training in a Smart City at the first presentation of the Dean’s Lecture Series: Winnipeg: Smart City – Intelligent Community, on Wed., May 2.

The event will feature speakers from Economic Development Winnipeg, the Communication Technology Association of Canada, and the deans of Extended Education and the Faculty of Science at the U of M.

When: Wed., May 2, 2018 from 12:15 p.m. until 1:30 p.m.
Where: Forth, 171 McDermot Ave.

Speakers:

  • Greg Dandewich, Senior VP, Economic Development Winnipeg – What it means to be a Smart City and how Winnipeg has earned and will retain this recognition.
  • Kathy Knight, CEO, Information, Communication, Technology Association of  Manitoba – The future of work in Smart Cities, including jobs and qualifications.
  • Gary Hepburn, Dean, Extended Education, University of Manitoba
  • Stefi Baum, Dean, Faculty of Science, University of Manitoba – How universities can meet the changing education and training needs of work in Smart Cities.
