UM ReShop moving online

September 20, 2021 —

Originally located in the basement of the Helen Glass Centre for Nursing on the Fort Garry campus, the University of Manitoba (UM) ReShop encourages students, staff and faculty to take, donate or exchange UM owned office furniture and accessories.

Over the years, the ReShop has provided hundreds of items for reuse, such as cabinets, chairs, desks, binders and other office furnishings. It builds on the culture of a circular economy, which ensures products are used for as long as possible. Recycling items within the UM community diverts items from the landfill and saves finite resources.

The ReShop Online serves as a virtual warehouse where you can browse available items and post University items you no longer need.

Any staff or faculty with a @umanitoba.ca email address can list available items in their department by category, quantity and date. Users can also add photos to listings and browse what others have posted. Users can also post detailed ‘wanted’ listings, specifying the type(s) of item they need. Contact information is included to make pickup or drop-off arrangements with the individual who listed the item. Items are to be reused at a UM campus or in at-home offices.

Through the ReShop Online, UM can continue to reduce its waste and serve our community in a sustainable way. Visit the ReShop Online.
