U of M to receive Partner Award from Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters

March 20, 2016 —

At a gala event on March 23 in Winnipeg the University of Manitoba will receive the Partner Award from Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME).

This event celebrates manufacturing and exporting excellence in Manitoba and the U of M’s Asper School of Business and Faculty of Engineering are being honoured. President David Barnard will accept the honour on the university’s behalf.

The Partner Award celebrates partners and service providers that have demonstrated a measurable impact in support of the growth and sustainability of manufacturing companies.

“Manufacturing is the backbone of the economy in Manitoba and relies heavily on business and engineering grads to provide the foundation for successful companies here. As the industry association and voice for manufacturers, CME felt it was important to recognize the two faculties of the University of Manitoba for the key role they have played over the years in supporting a vibrant manufacturing community in Manitoba,” says Ron Koslowsky, Vice President at CME.
