The Asian communities at the Faculty of Science include brilliant people from students in labs to instructors passionately teaching in classes, professors conducting ground-breaking research, and support staff who make our departments and the Faculty an extraordinary environment. With May being the Asian Heritage Month, we decided to shine the light on the contributions of the Asian communities at the Faculty and celebrate their presence.

UM receives $57 million for vaccine and biomedical research and infrastructure

The University of Manitoba (UM) in partnership with the Universities of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Calgary, has received $57 million in critical funding to conduct world-leading vaccine and biomanufacturing research and build two new innovative facilities, an investment that positions the institution to play a significant role in addressing future pandemic threats in Canada and around the world.

This Earth Day, we’re celebrating the first ever Green Investment Fund recipients, which will help our University of Manitoba community reach our 2050 Climate Action Plan goals . The Green Investment Fund was created to spur community involvement in helping us reach these goals and to encourage meaningful collaboration between faculty, staff and students in the name of sustainability.
