June 20, 2025 — 
Lisa Haydey completed an Honours degree in Psychology and a Masters in Physiotherapy from the University of Manitoba prior to law commencing school. She was drawn to law as a different way of helping people, by guiding them through the legal system and helping them access the protections it offers. Lisa is the Gold Medalist of the Juris Doctor Class of 2025 and will be articling at Mitousis Lemieux Howard in Winnipeg. The Faculty of Law interviewed Haydey about her law school experiences.

The Valedictorian Address for the JD Class of 2025 was Jordan Wagner. The text of his speech is below, and a video recording from the June 7th Manitoba Law Students’ Association Grad Gala can be viewed on the Faculty of Law’s Youtube channel.

The Faculty of Law celebrated the achievements of its Juris Doctor Class of 2025 at Spring Convocation. One-hundred and two students completed their undergraduate legal studies at Robson Hall this year. To share a glimpse of who they are, we shone an Instagram spotlight on a few of them just prior to their June 4th convocation day. Here is a compilation of the student profiles.

June 19, 2025 — 
This year’s STRR reception was held on May 5, 2025 with Cody Buhay selected as the Faculty of Law’s Outstanding Student. In turn, Buhay chose his Grade 11 and 12 Math and Chemistry teacher, Sabrina NganTian-Angeles and UM Faculty of Law Clinical Counsel, Allison Fenske as teachers who had the most lasting impact on his education and life.

June 18, 2025 — 
Oluwafisayo Stephen Ayita likes an academic challenge. He had only just moved to Winnipeg having obtained permanent resident status and was settling into the city with his family when he made a last-minute decision to submit his application for the Master of Laws program at the University of Manitoba on December 11, 2022, four days before the deadline. He was accepted into the program, starting in the fall of 2023, and graduated with his LLM degree at UM’s Spring Convocation on June 4, 2025.

June 5, 2025 — 
At the University of Manitoba Spring Convocation session on June 5, parchments were presented to the graduates from the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences.

June 5, 2025 — 
Jennifer Breddam [BA(Adv)/2025] returned to university after a catastrophic spinal injury that removed her from her career. This spring she graduated with an advanced degree in labour studies.
