Support staff recognized for their contributions
Each year the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences calls for nominations of a support staff member or team who have made outstanding contributions in support of the teaching, research, service and outreach goals of the Faculty.
At a celebratory barbecue to celebrate all nominees in July, two teams and three individuals received recognition.
- Glenlea Research Station and Farm and Food Discovery Centre Team, which includes Samuel Ariyibi, Jay Bourcier, Don Chaput, Kate Cummings, Jackie Edelson, Murry Friesen, Michael Hummel, Archimedes Isit, Hamidreza Khalouei, Lindsey Lippens, Gemmar Maramot, Al Neveux and Barry Peril
- Biosystems Engineering Team which includes Caitlin Jacques, Nammy Nadarajah and Mandy Tanner
- Allison Paulusma, Department of Plant Science
- Mandy Tanner, Department of Biosystems Engineering
- Emily Gregorchuk, Department of Food and Human Nutritional Sciences, now with the Student Services Office.
Later in the week, the award winners were announced. The first award was given to the Glenlea Research Station and Farm and Food Discovery Centre Team for their outstanding contributions and service to the Faculty, staff and students. The second award was given to Allison Paulusma, Administrative Assistant, for her exceptional administrative leadership and support to the Department of Plant Science.
A special note of thanks goes to the people who helped organize the lunch hour and to the nominators, who took the time to recognize and nominate support staff for the awards. Appreciation goes to all FAFS support staff for the continued assistance provided to teaching, research and outreach efforts.
