Sun: Girls HockeyFest a big hit
December 12, 2016 —
An opportunity to learn from Olympic gold medallist Cassie Campbell-Pascall was the culmination of a weekend full of girls hockey at the MTS Iceplex in Winnipeg.
The two-time Olympic women’s hockey champion with Canada was in town for the annual Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest, with over 370 girls from 7-14 taking part in a free, day-long on and off-ice training series which included a keynote address from Campbell-Pascall.
The current hockey broadcaster was assisted by the University of Manitoba Bisons women’s hockey team, who put on a skills and drills competition.
