Preventing, detecting and reporting financial fraud

We all have a role in the management of university assets

January 9, 2024 —

As a publicly funded institution, the University of Manitoba is entrusted with funding from governments, external agencies, donors, students and numerous other partners. While not all of us will handle university funds during our time at UM, we each have a role in the proper management of university assets.

It’s also up to all of us to do our part to prevent, detect and report any financial fraud we may come across. Appropriate financial stewardship allows us to make sound financial decisions that contribute to the ongoing success of our community.

For more information and tips on making the right decisions regarding UM assets, read the full prevention, detection and reporting guide.
