Plant pathologist honoured for sustainability research

Dilantha Fernando, Professor of plant pathology, Department of Plant Science, and Dean of Studies, St. Paul’s College, University of Manitoba, received a Lifetime Achievement Award for excellence in research towards sustainability of the environment and agriculture, conferred by the Society for Environmental Sustainability.
Dr. Fernando also delivered the keynote lecture at the annual conference of the society, held in Dubai, UAE from November 26-29, 2023.
His presentation was titled, “Artificial Intelligence, and Gene Editing for Environmental Sustainability; New Paradigms to Design Microbial Communities and Mitigate Plant Pathogens in Major Crops of the World”
