CBC: 16 local groups endorse city planning expert letter criticizing Winnipeg Transit overhaul

Dr. Orly Linovski, an associate professor in the University of Manitoba's city planning department, penned the Thursday letter, which was endorsed by 16 groups, including the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, the U of M's city planning department, the Manitoba Eco-Network, the North End Women's Centre and the Social Planning Council of Winnipeg.

UM Science Courtyard Garners Design Praise
October 7, 2025 —
In March 2025, the Science Courtyard was nominated for the German Landscape Architecture Prize, a biennial competition organized by the Federation of German Landscape Architects (Bund Deutscher Landschaftsarchitekten, BDLA). On May 1, 2025, it was awarded the Prairie Design Award of Merit in the Landscape Architecture category, with the celebration held at the Remai Modern in Saskatoon.
