Making UM more sustainable for everyone

Share your input on UM's next sustainability strategy

November 19, 2024 —

The University of Manitoba is refreshing its sustainability strategy.

The upcoming Sustainability Strategy is set to seamlessly align with UM’s overarching sustainability goals, driving meaningful change and fostering a greener future for the next five years.

Incorporating EDIA perspectives, the new strategy will promote the integration of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and align with UM’s ambitious new strategic plan, MomentUM: Leading Change Together. This visionary roadmap, unveiled in 2024, places a strong emphasis on sustainability across various domains.

The Office of Sustainability is working with external consultants Stok Canada to review existing data and policies, conduct engagement with the campus community and collect feedback that will guide UM from 2025 to 2030.

Engaging our community

Reaching our sustainability goals is a shared commitment. We want to ensure that the diversity of voices and perspectives that strengthen the UM community are reflected in this strategy.

The first phase of engagement is the launch of the sustainability survey. Aimed at getting feedback from faculty, staff and students, the survey is launching Nov. 20 and will be open until Dec. 3.

This is your opportunity to tell us what’s important to you as we create a new, improved sustainability plan. It’s quick and easy and will only take a few minutes of your time.
