Let the post-season begin

February 6, 2018 —

Led by the 2017-18 Canada West scoring and assist leaders, Justus Alleyn and Rashawn Browne, the #7 Bison men’s basketball team are ready to take on the #10 Brandon Bobcats in Friday’s play-in playoff match up. Game time is 7:30 p.m., Feb. 9 at Investors Group Athletic Centre.

The week-one playoff format is one single game. Win or go home. The victors will move on to the week-two, best-of-three series on the road against one of the top four Canada West teams.

This is the fourth consecutive season the Bison hoopsters have made a post-season appearance and one year after they fought their way to the U SPORTS national championship final 8 tournament.

Tickets for the game are $12 for adults and $7 for non-UM Students. UM students and fans 17 and under get in for free.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

For the first time in almost a decade, the Bison women’s basketball team also earned their way beyond the regular season. The herd will make their way to Alberta to play the single-game play-in against the Alberta Pandas on Saturday, Feb. 10. The game will be aired on Canadawest.tv (fees apply).
