Arab Cultural Exhibition brings students to campus

The Arab Cultural Exhibition, sponsored by the Faculty of Arts on Wednesday, February 3, aims to expose participants to the unique cultures of the Middle East and North Africa.

Representatives from 11 different Arabic communities will be on hand to display information about their respective cultures. This event has been designed to build knowledge and enhance understanding of people and societies in the Middle East and North Africa.

Prominent members of the Arabic community in Winnipeg will speak at the event. The first speaker of the day will be honorary degree recipient Abdo El Tassi [LLD/2013]. Other speakers include Mr. Wajih Zeid, Madam Laila and Dr. Farooq Shibib.

Over 100 junior high students from Linden Meadows School and Al Hijrah School will visit the U of M campus to attend this unique event. The University community and general public are invited to visit the Arab Cultural Exhibition.
