Excellence in Graduate Mentoring

Fang Wan, professor of marketing and F. Ross Johnson Fellow at the University of Manitoba’s Asper School of Business, has been awarded a University of Manitoba Excellence in Graduate Mentoring Award.
The award, offered this year for the first time, recognizes Wan’s commitment to mentoring graduate students through every step of their degree programs; responding to their needs; fostering an environment of curiosity and critical thinking; and encouraging her students to generate and share new knowledge. Wan’s mentorship had a “positive effect on students’ motivation” and created “lasting positive student outcomes,” says the awards committee.
