DIN Projects works with MMF to open transitional housing unit in downtown Winnipeg

On March 21, 2023, the Manitoba Metis Federation (MMF) celebrated the grand opening of a 20-unit transitional housing unit to assist in the fight to end homelessness in Winnipeg.

DIN Architecture, a firm led by Faculty of Architecture Assistant Professor Neil Minuk, designed the project.  The project, called  Fre Maachi, which means “Fresh beginnings” in Michif, features four two-bedroom suites, and 16 studio suites including 6 accessible units. The facility also includes a spiritual room, access to computers, free Wi-Fi, a welcome kit, ID Clinic, free laundry, and more.
