Flag lowered for former director of operations and maintenance

Thirteenth Annual Robson Hall Negotiation Competition a Success

October 19, 2018 — 
Sixteen teams of Robson Hall students competed in the thirteenth annual Robson Hall Negotiation Competition on the evening of October 18th, 2018.  These third-year students were selected for having excelled in the Legal Negotiation course they took in their second year of law school.  The main purpose of the competition is to develop superb negotiating skills in Robson Hall graduates. All legal training and professional expertise is directed toward one key objective—solving a client’s problems. Negotiation is the primary tool for accomplishing precisely that.

The Inner City Social Work Program (ICSWP) would like to thank the family of Margaret Tobin for gifting some of her artifacts, in honour of Kim Clare, to the William Norrie Centre for display. Margaret Tobin was an Associate Professor and Counsellor at the University of Manitoba who was committed to the ideals of the ICSWP, with heavy focus on supporting single parents, First Nations peoples, and accessibility services for students.

Plastic bags are one of – if not the – most misunderstood item in the world of waste reduction. Currently in Winnipeg, as well as many recycling facilities around the world, plastic bags cannot be processed as part of the blue bin system. The U of M has partnered with Multi-Material Stewardship Manitoba (MMSM) to combat our plastic bag use on campus.
