Avoid missing important messages!
Check your Junk Email folder in Outlook weekly
Your Microsoft Outlook email account has a Junk Email folder that filters out spam and phishing messages.
This feature can help you keep your inbox clean and organized, but it also has some drawbacks. Sometimes, legitimate messages from senders you trust may end up in the Junk Email folder by mistake.
Checking your Junk Email folder will help you avoid missing important messages. Especially because Outlook removes junk email 30 days after you receive it.
We recommend you review your Junk Email folder at least once a week and mark any messages that are not junk as safe.
This will help Outlook learn from your preferences and improve its filtering accuracy over time.
How to check your Junk Email
- Look for a folder called “Junk Email” in Outlook.
- Scan through the messages in your Junk Email folder and look for any that seem relevant or interesting to you.
- If you find a message that you want to keep, you can move it to your Inbox by selecting It’s not Junk at the top of the message.
There are already many reasons important messages sometimes get missed. Don’t let your Junk Email folder be one of them.
