Asper co-organizes international China Studies conference

January 22, 2016 —

The University of Manitoba’s Asper School of Business co-organized the 3rd Young Scholars’ Conference on China Studies, held in the Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong, China, from Dec 14 to 15, 2015.

“The conference was a great opportunity for students and young faculty members to build up stronger professional networks in China Studies and better facilitate research and future development,” says Adolf K.Y. Ng, a professor of Supply Chain Management at Asper and associate director of the U of M’s Transport Institute.

Ng represented the school at the conference, along with Changmin Jiang (an assistant professor of Supply Chain Management) and graduate students Jialong, Li, Hongwei Li, and Xun Jiao.

As a conference co-organizer, Asper organized two special sessions: China Business and Management, and Transport and Logistics Development in China. Ng was invited as a guest speaker for the conference’s Professional Development Workshop for Research Postgraduate Students, where he offered graduate students his personal insights on how to overcome the challenges of research and publication.

Other co-organizers include the Hong Kong Baptist University, Tsinghua University, Academia Sincia, Central Washington University, University of Queensland, and the Max Weber Foundation.
