August 6, 2024 —  Edmond Huot, has a Bachelor of Arts degree from UM. He is now the Chief Creative Officer of Forward Studio, a New York City–based global branding firm focusing on the airline, aerospace, and transportation sectors. He  spoke to Millennium Magazine about his exciting career in graphic design and brand work.

Winnipeg Free Press: Winnipeg’s Wog wraps up international career in Paris : UM in the News

August 6, 2024 —  Kelsey Wog, a former University of Manitoba Bisons swimmer posted a time of 2:24.82 in her semi-final race at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She told the Winnipeg Free Press, would retire and continue to pursue her Master's Degree but did also want to give back to the sport in some way.

Get to know Peter Pelka and his vision for the future of vaccine research : Get to know UM

August 2, 2024 —  In studying how adenovirus interacts with the host cell, Peter Pelka a professor at the department of microbiology and his team, explore how they can learn more about cancer development using the virus. Pelka is one of the prominent researchers who has participated in establishing the Prairie Pandemic Preparedness Hub, including the University of Manitoba, Alberta, Calgary and Saskatchewan. The hub has recently received $57 million for both research and infrastructure aspects from the Government of Canada to lead Canada toward independence in vaccine research and manufacturing.
