A Formula for success
The U of M will premiere Nomad Production’s Formula for Success, an MTS “Stories From Home” documentary featuring the University of Manitoba Formula SAE team.
Formula SAE is a competition that pits student teams from all over North America against each other, challenging them to build a racecar of their own design and construction. Students design, test, and construct their cars over the course of the school year, readying for competition. Students from the University of Manitoba are competing against the world with their own entries including a gas and an electric powered car.
The University of Manitoba Student Chapter of SAE International (UMSAE) is a non-profit student organization made up of 4 design teams, each of which designs a unique vehicle. The Aero Design, Baja, Formula Electric and Formula teams each provide post-secondary students with unique and exciting fast paced and hands on experiences, allowing them to develop design, manufacturing and team building skills amongst many others! UMSAE teams are made of up of students from all engineering disciplines.
Polar Bear Racing is the University of Manitoba’s Formula SAE team and one of four design teams in the University of Manitoba Student Chapter of SAE International. Polar Bear Racing designs an open wheel formula style race car each school year to compete in internationally renowned competitions around the world hosted by SAE International and it’s associates. This provides students the opportunity to apply their knowledge and take their skills to the next level. Starting with Mini-Indy competitions of the 1980’s the team has made great strives in developing a high performance vehicles with the help of our sponsors and much hard work on the part of our members.
The documentary film, Formula for Success, featuring the U of M Formula SAE team will be shown on APRIL 30 in E3-270, EITC, the MTS Lecture Theatre.
