You won’t find a less expensive massage anywhere else
Athletic Therapy students' Massage-a-Thon runs March 19-23 at UofM
Massage-A-Thon is back for 2018.
“You won’t find a less expensive massage anywhere in the city,” says Blair Goodwin, a fourth-year Athletic Therapy student at the University of Manitoba. “And with exams on the way, there’s not a better time to de-stress and release those endorphins by getting a massage.”
Rates are $10 for 15 minutes; $15 for 30 minutes; $20 for 45 minutes; and $25 for 60 minutes. It’s all taking place March 19-23 on the 2nd floor of University Centre (UC) in the Graduate Students’ Association Lounge.
Hours are Monday and Tuesday, 9-5; Wednesday, 9-6; Thursday, 9-5; and Friday, 9-4.
There’s an advance sign-up option March 14-16 in UC and in the Extended Education hallway from 11am-2pm. Or you can email umatstudentcouncil@gmail.com with a preferred date/time. Or, just show up.
Funds raised will go to support the Faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management’s Bachelor of Kinesiology-Athletic Therapy degree program. Goodwin says fundraisers such as these are needed to off-set the high costs of the program.
“Students have to purchase many of their own supplies, which can really add up. We’re hoping to raise a lot of money for the program, give people a relaxing massage, and to raise the profile of the AT program at U of M,” adds Goodwin.
