Students and Professionals Gather for Annual Meet and Greet Event
On March 16th, the annual Manitoba Association of Architects Meet and Greet was held at The Common in the Forks Market. The Meet and Greet is first and foremost about exposure for students and professionals. It’s an opportunity for students from the Department of Architecture to meet local practicing architects, ask questions about the profession, and it provides an opportunity for the attending professionals to learn about students, their interests and their career ambitions.
Supplied with plenty of appetizers and beverages from the market vendors, guests sat at the long harvest table and the students shifted to allow for interaction with many professionals. MAA student representative and event organizer, Aaron Pollock reported that “the event was well attended by 40 students from the various undergraduate and graduate levels, and almost 30 professionals from the MAA (Manitoba Association of Architects). One of our most successful events yet!”
This event was organized by the University of Manitoba Association of Architecture Students (UMAAS) and was sponsored by the Faculty of Architecture Endowment Fund, Partners Program and the Manitoba Association of Architects. A special thank you to all of the participants who helped make this event a success.
