Manitoba Marathon takes over Fort Garry campus on June 19
It’s a Father’s Day tradition that will once again take over the University of Manitoba on Sunday.
The Manitoba Marathon will see thousands of runners and athletes running throughout Winnipeg.
The start and end points will be on the Fort Garry campus.
At 5am Sunday, University Crescent will be closed to vehicle traffic from Pembina Highway to Dafoe Road. The crescent will re-open around 2:00 pm.
Chancellor Matheson will also be closed to vehicle traffic (except buses). It will re-open around noon.
Vehicle access to the campus at all intersections along Freedman Crescent and Dafoe Road (including King’s Drive) will be closed at 5am and will re-open at 9am.
Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times. Campus Security, Winnipeg Police and Winnipeg Emergency Services will be on site.
If residence students and staff need to leave campus during these times, please move vehicles from residence parking lots to a remote location where you will be able to leave the campus easily.
