Students raising money for Shinerama
University of Manitoba students are working hard, spending hours on end working to raise $13,000 and exceed their fundraising goals. They want to raise upwards of $40,000 by the end of the campaign and have already raised $16,000.
Today, as part of Shinerama’s “Shine Day”, students will shine shoes around the city of Winnipeg and on the University of Manitoba’s Fort Garry campus to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis research and treatment. “Shine Day” ends at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 16.
Shinerama is Canada’s largest post secondary student run fundraising campaign, with all funds raised going towards Cystic Fibrosis Canada for the 51st consecutive year! This will be the 30th year the University of Manitoba has participated in Shinerama.
The University of Manitoba’s Shinerama Committee is led by students from the I.H Asper School of Business on the Commerce Students Association.
