Bisons this week
Two Manitoba Bisons were selected in the 2015 Canadian Football League Draft on Tuesday, May 12.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders selected Nic Demski in the first round (sixth overall). Demski, 21, has been a versatile player for the Bisons over the last four seasons. He was named as 2014 CIS Football Second Team All-Canadian and 2014 Canada West All-Star.
The Ottawa REDBLACKS selected Kienan LaFrance in the sixth round (45th overall). LaFrance, 23, was a 2014 Canada West All-Star, a first time conference all-star, in his fourth season with the Bisons.
In the CFL Draft, the Manitoba Bisons have now accounted for the eighth most university football players drafted during the last four year period (2012-15) with eight. The Bisons had players selected in three of the last four CFL Drafts: 2012 (1), 2014 (5) and 2015 (2).
Bisons Jordan Yantz was chosen in the round following the draft, allowing him an invite to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers training camp.
