The Western Producer: Tick research from the University of Manitoba focuses on insects and testing

They spend all day and night in the pasture and are constantly exposed. And while most people assume there is no effect on the animals, that is not always the case. Some insects such as ticks can carry and transmit anaplasmosis.

This is why researchers at the University of Manitoba and Agriculture Canada are examining the role arthropods play in anaplasmosis, as well as designing better tests.
