Moose Jaw Today: Verticillium disease discovery, UM doctoral student

University of Manitoba doctoral student, Shruti Kashyap, is studying early-season moisture as it relates to verticillium disease severity. That led to the discovery that plants with thick suberin-rich roots had lower disease. Kashyap worked with her advisors, Claudio Stasolla and Harmeet Chawla, Plant Science professors in the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences.
