CTV Winnipeg: University of Manitoba students create alternative to peat moss
April 23, 2024 —
It started as a class project this year in their biosystems engineering class and is now a viable climate solution coming to market.
Kristen Semenko and three other classmates partnered with Typha Co in Winnipeg to look at the ways Typha (aka cattails) could be used as a replacement for the peat moss. She spoke with CTV about their research.
They also spoke with the Winnipeg Free Press, available here: Replacing peat moss: a tale of ingenuity, co-operation.
