UM Eclipse viewing party media coverage
On Monday, April 8th we gathered at the quad on campus to view the eclipse (safely!) from 1:30 P.M. until 2:30 P.M.
500 pairs of glasses were handed out to staff and students hoping to catch a glimpse of this rare celestial site.
Kelvin Au, a PHD student in Astrophysics at University of Manitoba remarked on the significance of the day “It’s quite rare. I mean, the next total one’s going to be in 2044, that we’re going to be seeing in North America,” said Au.
