President Barnard congratulates Winnipeg Blue Bombers for their Grey Cup win

Statement of congratulations from President and Vice-Chancellor David Barnard to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on their amazing Grey Cup win, ending a 29-year drought:

On behalf of the entire University of Manitoba community, I want to extend warm and enthusiastic congratulations to everyone on the Grey Cup Champion Winnipeg Blue Bombers. You showed how focus and perseverance pay off, and entertained a city, a province and a country with your magical season. In particular, of course, we at UM are proud of former Bisons Nic Demski, Thomas Miles and Geoff Gray. I also want to congratulate UM alumni, Dayna Spiring, Winnipeg Football Club Board of directors chair, and Bombers president and CEO, Wade Miller. Well done!
