School of Art Associate Professor Mark Neufeld Exhibits at C’cap
The School of Art is proud to announce that Associate Professor Mark Neufeld is currently featured in Icecreampowerpinkyswearlater?, a two-person exhibition with Newfoundland artist Julie Oh, on display at Centre for Cultural and Artistic Practices [C’cap] from December 7, 2024, to February 8, 2025.
This exhibition presents a compelling dialogue between the practices of Neufeld and Oh, both of whom are deeply engaged with the recontextualization of objects within artistic frameworks. Neufeld’s contributions include Excerpt from a History of Painting, a video projection that critically examines the history and philosophy of painting, alongside a suite of vibrant still-life-inspired paintings. Julie Oh complements this with sculptural installations of unmodified everyday objects, prompting reflection on their cultural significance and latent meanings.
Curated by C’cap Director and School of Art alumnus Luther Konadu (BFA/19), Icecreampowerpinkyswearlater? explores the intersections of materiality, artistic medium, and conceptual inquiry, offering viewers an intellectually engaging experience.
