VOTE: How will you stay connected to the U of M after graduation?
May 20, 2015 —
Spring 2015 Convocation is just days away and another class of U of M students will complete their time on campus.
But getting your degree doesn’t mean saying goodbye. There are many ways stay in touch with your alma mater post-graduation. Tell us how you plan to stay connected.

I did not stay connected, because U of M disconnected with me. As soon as I graduated, U of M deleted my U of M email address without warning, as if it wanted nothing to do with me. It was very hurtful to be treated that way after all the years I spent there.
Thank you for taking the time to comment. I am so sorry you had that experience, it is certainly not how we hope to stay involved with our graduates. Previously, our U o M email address system did automatically delete the addresses six months after graduation. Based on feedback like yours, we have updgraded the email system so that students may keep their U of M email addresses indefinitely. Unfortunately, this happened after your completed your studies. Please accept our sincere apologies. We would love a second chance to stay connected, if you’re willing to do so. Here is a link (http://news.umanitoba.ca/alumni/update-your-contact-information/) to the online form where you can submit your current email address and receive information and updates from us. We hope you will do so. Thank you again for allowing us the chance to apologize.
I try not to be connected with UofM since I see no value of connecting with it other than having the student rate for my gym membership, but that ended this year. I am not able to renew my membership annaully like the past after graduation, so good bye UofM.
There should be ab option of completely cut off connection with UofM.
