Newly renovated Campus Children’s Centre opens
Increased childcare at Fort Garry
The Campus Children’s Centre (formally Campus Day Care Centre) is expanding and is expected to open this fall. The newly renovated centre will offer up to 138 licensed spaces, and a new indoor gym for children to play in when it’s too hot or cold to play outside.
The Campus Children’s Centre is a welcoming environment that celebrates a diversity of cultures and weaves traditional teachings into its curriculum. While all students, staff and faculty and community members are welcome to apply, priority access will be given to Indigenous students. Care is available for children three months to six years old.
This facility’s enhancement is made possible thanks the University of Manitoba Students’ Union $2.4 million donation to the Front and Centre campaign, alongside a $300,000 donation from the University of Manitoba Graduate Students’ Association (UMGSA). The provincial government also provided $600,000 in support of this project.
Be sure to register early, since spots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
