Asper produces top consumer researchers
The prestigious Journal of Consumer Research has named the University of Manitoba one of the leading post-secondary institutions for training “the top scholars of the future,” according to an article published in the journal in June.
The article reviewed 40 years of articles published in the journal since its inception in 1974. The authors examined the evolution of topics explored in the journal, tabulated the most-cited articles and top scholars in the consumer research field, and determined where scholars had earned their PhD.
According to the article:
A total of 26 schools feature as having produced top scholars. Schools in the United States feature heavily as the training grounds of the top scholars, with Canada the only other country featured, by virtue of the University of British Columbia and the University of Manitoba. (p.16)
