What would you call the eatery in the Active Living Centre?
The final preparations are underway for the opening of the University of Manitoba’s Active Living Centre, to be opened in early 2015 for students, staff, faculty, and community members.
In light of research that shows a strong connection between recreational physical activity and positive mental health, enabling active living with the new 100,000 square foot facility is of significant importance to the U of M. The Active Living Centre will include three multipurpose rooms, an enhanced climbing wall which will be more dynamic and higher than the current one, and an open meeting space with flexible seating.
The facility will also house a new food services area and it needs a name. That’s where you can help.
The Faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management is running a contest to name the eatery. Since the general goal of the cafe promotes healthy food and healthy bodies, contest judges are looking for names that embrace this theme. The winner will receive a $200 gift certificate to either SportChek or Futureshop.
To participate in the “Name That Eatery Contest” email your name to namethateatery@umanitoba.ca by December 1, 2014.
Good luck!
