Student-led wheelchair program boosts kids’ confidence, builds community

Two occupational therapy (OT) students from the College of Rehabilitation Sciences, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences have developed a training camp that promotes confidence and a sense of community for children who use wheelchairs.

UM student researches virtual care solutions for managing chronic cough

A study conducted this summer at the College of Rehabilitation Sciences, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences suggested virtual care strategies that became more common during the COVID-19 pandemic can also be effective in assessing and managing patients with chronic cough.

Physical therapy prof awarded for research on disparity in ACL injury rate between genders
August 4, 2023 —
A UM researcher at the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences has been awarded two prizes from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and Institute of Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis (IMHA) for research published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine in March 2021 on how societal factors affect knee injury in female athletes.

Student-led physio clinic offers interprofessional approach

This spring, for the first time in 20 years, the College of Rehabilitation Sciences’ student-led Physical Therapy Neuro Rehab Clinic brought in students from three additional health disciplines for a trial run of a more holistic approach to patient care.
