Annual St. Paul's Day Mass and Academic Awards Ceremony
St. Paul’s College recently hosted its annual St. Paul’s Day Mass and Academic Awards Ceremony on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Christ the King Chapel. This cherished tradition is a celebration of academic achievement, community, and recognition of outstanding students.
The St. Paul’s Day Mass, led by His Grace, Archbishop Richard Gagnon, was a testament to the College’s commitment to spiritual growth and reflection. The liturgy, enriched by hymns such as “Envía tu espíritu” and “Shine, Jesus, Shine,” inspired contemplation of the values of compassion, humility, and service summarized in the Gospel readings and homily delivered by His Grace.
The awards were presented as follows:
- Adam Giesinger Scholarship in Mathematics and Science presented to Elisa Gan, Matteo Funk and Megan Pinette
- Oleh W. Gerus and Mrs. Yvonne M. Gerus Scholarship in History presented to Lauren Schick
- Honourable Philip S. Lee, C.M., O.M. and Family Scholarship presented to Jaskaran Singh
- The Jesuit Scholarship presented to Izabella Borys and Kyle Wilfer
- Kenneth H. Kustra, CA Scholarship presented to Allan Arnould
- J. Rice Family Foundation Scholarship presented to Farah Noreen
- Matthew, Elizabeth, Marjorie, Charles, and Ilene Meder Scholarship presented to Ameen Alnaser and Greg Karvelas
- William Briskie Memorial Scholarship presented to Farah Noreen and Travis Dech
- The Wyrzykowski Family Scholarship presented to Myles Cesario and Shahrzad Parzaei
- The Brian Patrick O’Connell Memorial Scholarship presented to Collin Habon, Heath Chalmers and Melani Fernando
- The Susan Deane International Paulinian Award for Academic and Community Leadership presented to Camila Hernandez
- The Todd Davison Memorial Scholarship presented to Lily Francis
- The John E. Robbie Prize in Computer Science presented to David Xavier, Dylan Duha and Nathan Nguyen
- Paul’s College Alumni and Friends Association, Inc. Entrance Scholarship presented to Jasmine DeCaire
Dr. Adams concluded the ceremony by expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event and congratulating the award and scholarship winners. St. Paul’s College is committed to supporting its students’ academic pursuits through scholarships, bursaries, and awards, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder their educational journey.
