St John’s College Art Competition

St John’s College has announced a call for submissions for the second annual St John’s College Art Competition. First prize is $300.00, second prize is $200.00 and third prize is $100.00, as determined by a selected jury. Winners will be announced on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at a reception in the Daily Bread Café sponsored by Ian Park, Food Ser-vices Manager. The submissions will be showcased during the month of February in the Daily Bread Café at St John’s College.

Who: Any University of Manitoba student registered during the 2013-14 school year
What: Submissions accepted include: wall pieces, prints, paintings, and photographs. Please provide a small tag to hang with your art work include your full name, title of the piece, artistic medium, phone or email and the price if you wish to sell your piece.
Be sure that your art is prepared for hanging on a picture rail system
Where: All submissions must be dropped off in the general office; 214 St John’s College
When: Submission deadline is Monday, January 20, 2014; winners will be announced at a reception in the Daily Bread Café on Thursday, February 13, 2014

Please note:
All work is to be dropped off and picked up by the artist. Once the jury has deliberated, all artists must install their work in the Daily Bread Café on Sunday, February 2, 2014 between 2:00p.m.-4:00p.m. and following the competition must dismantle from the Daily Bread Café on Sunday, March 2, 2014 between 2:00p.m.-4:00p.m. St John’s College is not responsible for any damaged or missing items and is not responsible for any work left in the Daily Bread Café following the competition.
