2019 Manitoba Physical and Health Education Teacher Education Student Leadership Conference

January 11, 2019 —

Our Bachelor of Physical Education students are excited to play host to the fifth annual Manitoba Physical and Health Education Teacher Education Student Leadership Conference, Friday, Jan. 25.

The full-day conference will be hosted at the University of Manitoba’s Fort Garry campus in the Active Living Centre and is themed “movement for mental health.”

Robert Broten, a mental performance coach with experience working with professional athletes from across the globe, is the event’s keynote speaker.

Conference co-chair, Matthew Trudeau, says there’s been a growing—if not dire—demand for physical education educators to be also equipped with mental health knowledge and expertise.

“We know moving and exercise is good for our physical health, but it also plays a huge role in other areas of our lives and bodies,” says the third-year physical education student.

Early-bird registration is now open and it’s a two-step process: please download and submit the registration form to PHESLC [at] umanitoba [dot] ca. Please also submit your registration payment online.
