Medicine Art Show now accepting submissions under theme “The Future is Now”

March 2, 2020 —

Submissions are now open to all Rady Faculty of Health Sciences’ students, faculty and staff for the annual Max Rady College of Medicine Art Show!

This year’s theme is “The Future is Now.”

Navjit Singh, a first-year medical student and one of the organizers, said the group brainstormed ideas for possible themes relevant to health care and everyday life that could be interpreted in a variety of ways.

“With technology constantly changing and impacting not only our everyday lives, but also the functioning of the health-care system, we felt that this theme was the perfect choice for this year’s art show,” he said.

Amy Lee, a second-year medical student and an organizer, added that the theme can mean different things to different people.

“Perhaps you may want to focus on the benefits of advancing technology or you may want to consider the downfalls,” she said. “You can interpret this theme from the perspective of a patient, a health-care provider, a student or a citizen of Canada/Manitoba. We thought the possibilities with this theme were endless.”

The show is being organized by the college’s Creative Arts Interest Group.
