Dr Heather Mair of the University of Waterloo presents Making the case for leisure, sport and tourism in rural Canada Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 2:30 p.m. in 220 ALC.
Mair is an Associate Professor in the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies at the University of Waterloo. Her work includes critical investigations of the role of leisure, sport, and tourism in rural Canada. Recent examples of her work include exploring the role of curling clubs in rural Canadian life, as well as considering the impact of using media and tourism as mechanisms for rural development and revitalization.
The presentation is free and open to the public.
