Grand Opening Celebration for the Active Living Centre

April 7, 2015 —

The grand opening celebration for the Active Living Centre takes place today, Tuesday, April 7 at 11 am at 430 University Crescent.

Please join the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, His Worship Brian Bowman, Mayor of the City of Winnipeg; and Dr. David Barnard, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Manitoba as we officially open our new fitness and research facility.  Reception and guided tours to follow.

Boasting floor to ceiling windows and the third largest quantity of Precor® networked cardio units in the world, new and existing patrons will be inspired as they explore the beauty and reap the benefits of this world-class facility.

Each year, more than 7,800 students and 1,000 staff and community members use the Faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management’s sport and recreation facilities at the University of Manitoba. The Faculty promotes sport and active living through various university and community programs for people of all ages. It has a long history of success in Intercollegiate Sport and prepares future kinesiologists, physical educators and recreation specialists, while producing knowledgeable consumers of physical activity.
