Creativity shines bright as UM students look to showcase artistic talents
Join us on March 22 as students and staff display their art pieces in St John’s College followed up with a musical reception by Desautels Faculty of Music.
In collaboration with the Desautels Faculty of Music, St John’s College is proud to host the second annual music and art competition on March 22, 2024.
Starting in 2012, the artistic side of this competition has been a tradition in St John’s college for a number of years now. The competition looks to bring together students and staff from across the University of Manitoba to showcase a range of artistic abilities. Last year, the competition received fifteen entries, and the three finalists included Margot Morrish, Anaies Mehrabian, and the Rachmaninoff Trio.
Students and staff were asked to submit one art piece less than a meter across before the February 14th deadline to the St John’s College General Office.
Following the event on March 22, the Desautels Faculty of Music will perform in the St John’s College Chapel, where the award winners will be recognized.
