College of Rehabilitation Sciences Open House

January 13, 2020 —

The Rady Faculty of Health Sciences’ College of Rehabilitation Sciences will hold its annual Open House on Jan. 19, 2020 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. in the Brodie Centre Atrium, 727 McDermot Ave., Bannatyne campus, University of Manitoba.

The Open House is targeted to students interested in pursuing master’s degrees in occupational therapy and physical therapy or a bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy. These programs prepare future health-care professionals for rewarding careers in a variety of settings in health, social services, labour and education.

“I came to the Open House before applying to the program and it was a huge benefit to me for learning about what I needed to do to apply to the program, how to get in, and also what the program entailed,” said Tom Pachal, a second-year physical therapy student.

Over 200 visitors are expected to attend. Students and faculty from all three programs will be on-site to answer questions as well as lead tours and share information.

“At the Open House, potential students will have an opportunity to talk to current students and faculty, and view demonstrations that will showcase exciting options in physical, occupational and respiratory therapy careers, including avenues they might not have considered before,” said Dr. Reg Urbanowski, dean, College of Rehabilitation Sciences.
